BLACKPINK Jennie Opens Up on Founding 'ODDATELIER', Plans For Full Album in 2024

BLACKPINK Jennie revealed for the first time the reason why she founded her one-person agency 'ODD ATELIER (OA)'.

On the afternoon of the 2nd, the first recording site of KBS 2TV's 'Lee Hyori's Red Carpet' was revealed at the KBS new building in Seoul.

On this day, Lee Hyori mentioned to BLACKPINK's Jennie that she recently decided to stand alone. Jennie said, “I have been working with the company I worked with for seven years, but I wanted to do individual activities more freely and comfortably, so I carefully founded a company called 'OA'. I ended up working with the crew that I've been working with for a long time. I wanted to do all my activities freely. The name is made to mean that I will do well, even if the path I take is strange or different from others. It's amazing that it's my first time to open it while holding a microphone. I'm glad that I can do it in front of you,"

Jennie continued, "I learned so much, and I started as a trainee from the beginning, so I did so many things that I could do and learn from there, so I asked myself with a spirit of challenge. I thought, 'Let's bump into each other and think about it.'” she said, revealing the background to establishing a one-person agency.

In particular, Lee Hyori asked if there was a possibility that the company 'OA' would produce other artists besides Jennie in the future. Jennie laughed, saying, "Actually, I've never dreamed of something like that, but it was fun to imagine something like that while starting a company. But I think it would be good if we take good care of an artist named Jennie and have good things happen in the future."

After hearing this, Lee Hyori said, "My contract with Antenna ends in February, so please help me grow," making the audience burst into laughter, and Jennie added, "Please call me."

Finally, Jennie revealed her plans for 2024, saying, "My dream is to release my first solo full-length album to the world this year. I hope to become a Jennie who can come back with good music within this year."

KBS 2TV's 'Lee Hyori's Red Carpet' will be aired for the first time on the 5th at 11:20 PM KST.
