BABYMONSTER's "BATTER UP" M/V Becomes Fastest Kpop Group Debut to Hit 200 Million Views

BabyMonster has set a new record again.



According to YG Entertainment on the 20th, the music video for Baby Monster's debut song "Batter Up" exceeded 200 million views on YouTube at 11:23 p.m. on the previous day. It has been about 53 days since it was released at midnight on the 27th of last month, and it reached 200 million views, the fastest ever K-pop group debut music video.

The music video broke the 24-hour mark with 22.59 million views in just one day after its release, before breaking the record of 50 million views (on April 4) and 100 million views (on April 18). It topped the global YouTube daily music video chart for five consecutive days, topping the weekly chart.

Currently, Baby Monster's official channel has 4.19 million subscribers and more than 900 million cumulative views, a point where you can realize the existence of the next generation of YouTube queens.

Upon its release, "Batter Up" topped iTunes' song charts in 21 countries, topping the charts all over the world. It has topped Billboard's Global 200 (101st) and Billboard's Global (49th) just eight days after its release, and in Spotify, the world's largest music platform, it is the fastest K-pop girl group debut song to hit 10 million streams, reaching nearly 47 million streams.

Meanwhile, Baby Monster will release its second new song titled "Stuck in the Middle" on Feb. 1. "It's a new genre of song that focuses solely on outstanding singing and unique voice," YG said. It is expected to show off the charms of the original hip hop song "Batter Up." The group will also release its first mini album in April.
