NewJeans Ties BLACKPINK’s Record for Longest-charting K-pop Girl Group Album on Billboard 200
Billboard has reported that NewJeans' 2nd mini album 'Get Up' has secured the 197th spot on the 'Billboard 200' chart as of the 27th. Although it has dropped 21 places from its previous position of 176th, the album has managed to stay on the chart for 26 weeks. This achievement has tied the record previously set by BLACKPINK’s first full-length album, 'THE ALBUM.' As mentioned above, the two albums are currently the longest-ranking K-pop girl group albums on the 'Billboard 200' chart.
The only K-pop groups with albums that have stayed on the 'Billboard 200' for more than 20 weeks are NewJeans, BLACKPINK, and BTS.
In addition, 'Get Up' entered the 'Billboard 200' at number 1 on August 5th of last year and stayed there for more than half a year, continuing a new record of being the longest charting album by a 4th generation K-pop group.
Also, 'Get Up''s title song 'Super Shy' runs long on the 'Global 200'. It ranked 121st this week and maintained its ranking for 28 consecutive weeks. In addition, New Jeans' previous works have been on the 'Global 200' chart for over a year. ‘OMG’ is 179th, and ‘Ditto’ is 184th.
