FIFTY FIFTY To Boycott SBS's Inkigayo

FIFTY FIFTY To Boycott SBS's Inkigayo

FIFTY FIFTY will boycott Inkigayo because of SBS.

On the 28th, CEO Jeon Hongjoon of Attrakt confirmed they will not send their girl group to SBS's Inkigayo, "I don't care if they can't promote. Sometimes honor and self-esteem are more important than money."

"Unaswered Questions", an SBS show, previously aired a special episode over the Attrakt vs FIFTY FIFTY episode, but they never contacted Attrakt over their side of the story.

After the controversy erupted, "Unanswered Questions" eventually deleted the footage and admitted its own fault. The Korea Communications Standards Commission also issued a warning. However, the "Unanswered Questions" production team has never contacted Attrakt or apologized.

"There was no contact at all," Jeon said. "After 30 years in the broadcasting industry, producers contacted me indirectly and said, 'I will make room for you.' So I said, 'Don't make an unofficial apology and make an official apology. That will build my self-esteem. What are you talking about? I can't accept it,'" Jeon said. "It's so unfair that you made a person suffer and never make an official apology. Just because you are a powerful group and a broadcasting station doesn't mean you can do anything, right?"

Rumor has it that the production team of "Inkigayo" is also at a loss over the situation. However, it is not easy to ask "Inkigayo" to participate since FIFTY FIFTY has not made an official request to appear on the show.

Koreans reacted to the news on an online community saying:

  • Oh, there was a reason
  • I'm supporting them
  • The still haven't apologized?
  • The production team of "Inkigayo" is also in trouble.
  • I'm just saying that I don't think SBS will care...
  • It's too bad... but they still can appear on M! Countdow, Music Bank and Music Core.
  • I understand it but it will only affect the girls.
