Kim Seungmin is a South Korean singer-songwriter, dancer, and composer under JYP Entertainment. He is best known as the main vocalist of the boy group Stray Kids.
Seungmin, encouraged by his friend and JYP trainee Lee Daehwi (former Wanna One and now AB6IX member), participated in JYP Entertainment's 13th Open Audition during high school, where he placed 2nd. He joined JYP Entertainment in March 2017 as the second-to-last member to be added to the lineup.
On October 13, 2017, the company unveiled his individual picture and name, announcing his participation in the survival show Stray Kids, where he was introduced as a vocalist. It was later confirmed on the final episode of the show on December 19, 2017, that Seungmin would debut as a member of the boy group Stray Kids.
Seungmin debuted as a member of Stray Kids on March 25, 2018, with the mini album I am NOT.
From July to December 2018, Seungmin became an MC for Arirang's "After School Club."
Seungmin won "The Best Artist of K-Drama OST" with his OST "Close To You" from the K-drama "Love in Contract" at the Top Ten Awards in Mexico. He also won KM Chart’s “'Autumn Season Best OST” award with his OST "Destiny" from the K-drama "Midnight Studio."
