Joon Park (박준형) is a Korean-American singer-songwriter, rapper, dancer, television personality and actor under Sidus HQ. He is best known as the leader and main rapper of the legendary boy group G.O.D.
He made his debut in 1999 with g.o.d. with the album "To Mother".
The group nearly disbanded in September of 2001, after Park Joon-hyung was discovered to be in a relationship. Their management announced, without informing him or the members, that he was to leave the group and they'd continue as 4, but it was met with strong objection from fans, who repeatedly signed petitions and threatened to boycott concerts and the company. Danny, Kyesang, Hoyoung and Taewoo held their own press conference, without the knowledge of their management, to show their support for Joon. After two months of disagreements, their company eventually backed down and allowed Joon to be in the group.
During g.o.d's 2006-2014 hiatus, Joon returned to the United States to make his acting debut, starring in movies 'Speed Racer' (2008) and 'Dragonball Evolution' (2009).
On May 3, 2014, g.o.d.'s 15th anniversary concert was announced through JTBC. Despite the low-key announcement and the group's refusal to promote on music programs, their comeback recieved extensive media coverage and became a trending topic within South Korea as they were the first inactive K-pop idol group to make a comeback with all of their original members.
The album 'Chapter 8' was released on July 8, 2014, marking their comeback and the end of their hiatus.
On May 4, 2015, Sidus HQ announced that Joon was engaged to Kim Yoo-Jin, a flight attendant. They were to get married on June 26, 2015.
Their daughter was born on May 10, 2017.
In July of 2018, Joon opened his YouTube channel called Wassup Man, becoming a huge hit and gaining nearly 1 million subscribers in two months.
In 2020, Wassup Man was adapted as a Netflix series titled 'Wassup Man GO' featuring Joon travelling in Los Angeles.
