On July 19th, according to JTBC, a film industry official revealed that former IZ*ONE member Kim Minju was recently cast as the lead role in the movie 'Hear Me" and is currently preparing for filming.
Kim Minju is expected to show off youth chemistry with Noh Yoon Seo (Our Blues, Crash Course in Romance) and Hong Kyung In (Weak Hero Class 1, Revenant), who were previously reported to have been cast as main leads in the film.
"Hear Me" is a Korean remake of the 2009 Taiwanese movie of the same name. The original version depicted the story of a man who fell in love at first with a hearing-impaired woman. Starring Ivy Chen and Eddie Peng, the movie became one of the most popular Taiwanese movies in South Korea.
Kim Minju is expected to play the role of the female lead's sister, who happens to be a swimmer. As she has to perform not only swimming but also sign language acting, it is rumored that Kim Minju is preparing hard for the filming, which is set to begin this year.
