On November 6th, according to an exclusive report from Sports Chosun Korea, all of BTOB members' exclusive contracts with Cube Entertainment ended last week after they decided not to renew their exclusive contracts.
Previously, there were rumors that BTOB's non-renewal is caused by payment issues. However, Korean media say this is not exactly the case.
According to industry officials, BTOB is a rare team with both singing and performance producing skills and is also well-versed in entertainment and acting. Because of this, many companies offered them a large down payment just to sign exclusive contracts with them. However, because the members were determined to stay together and remain as one team, they continued to coordinate and negoatiate with Cube Entertainment regarding their down payment.
During the process, CUBE Entertainment demanded a certain portion of the team's total revenue on the condition of using BTOB trademarks, causing the negotiation to fail.
BTOB made their impressive debut in 2012 and rose to be one of the most popular boy groups of their generation, becoming known for their all-rounder skills. As more rumors surface about their contract negotiations, fans from all around the world have been showering them with all out support.
