LE SSERAFIM Makes Coachella Week Two Stage Their Oyster Amidst Pressure from Netizens

LE SSERAFIM Makes Coachella Week Two Stage Their Oyster Amidst Pressure from Netizens

LE SSERAFIM becomes the greatest mermaids of themselves on their second week at Coachella, despite the unforgiving response from their performance last week.

Their song The World Is My Oyster is a great way to describe their week two energy!

After a major setback received on their Weekend One performance at the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’, girl group LE SSERAFIM dared to prove the viewers wrong this time. On the 20th of local time in California, they successfully concluded their historic journey by being able to perform at the largest music festival in the United States.

The Korean girl group expressed heavy feelings of gratitude and excitement. “We are happy to stand on the Coachella stage again. I hope you enjoy tonight. “Let’s make tonight a perfect night.”

LE SSERAFIM performed for the second time on the Sahara stage at the Coachella with the following setlist:

ANTIFRAGILE
FEARLESS
The Great Mermaid
• 1-800-HOT & FUN (Unreleased song)
UNFORGIVEN
Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard’s wife
Perfect Night
Smart
EASY
Fire in the belly

Now, you know their name! *wink*

Indeed, LE SSERAFIM was FEARLESS on their second show—determined to prove the major backlash that hit them during their Coachella debut stage so they avenged themselves by showing off their more stable live skills and relaxed stage manners. In that case, everyone had set their expectations, the audience kicking their feet, and the crowd that oozed Sahara stage was truly ready and thrilled to enjoy LE SSERAFIM's stage that perfect night!

However, despite receiving favorable reviews from the audience and overseas media, there were still comments that didn’t go easy on them. Yet, many netizens weren't still pleased with how this second performance 'didn't do well'.

Right after their performance, their name became an instant fire topic in several online community platforms. Netizens commented:

  • Thank you for your hard work. Now, the agency should sue for the excessive comments please.
  • I really had a hard time,,ㅠㅠ I don't think the live was that good, but I was criticized and ridiculed so much that I just want to support them.
  • I had fun today. The band session was great. It will get better in the future.
  • But who arranged it? Aside from the fact that the band session skills are good, something doesn't seem to fit. I also hear some unexpected sounds in the flow of the song.
  • They finished it safely and now let’s practice vocals.
  • I believe it will be better next time.
  • Thank you for your hard work, LE SSERAFIM.
  • Fans, you know that the more you shield, the more you become a laughingstock, right?
  • It's not up to Coachella level.
  • Your voice gets louder only when you say hello...
  • Definitely better than last week.
  • I'm so tired of the pattern of them congratulating themselves on a stage that should be shabby and shameful, and then coming out with lyrics that criticize the public...
  • Let’s grow even more by gaining various experiences.
  • Good luck practicing for the next album and live!!

On the other hand, somebody pointed out that the whole performance sounded like a 'music room' due to the alleged overuse of backtracking and enhancing live AR. (Live AR is the recording of both the singer's voice and the instrumental music. It is recorded as if the singers are singing live, including breathing.)

  • The song is also a problem and the directing is truly disastrous.
  • You can't improve your skills in a week.
  • I think live AR, not just AR, is really cheating and deceiving. Why do you put breathing sounds in AR?
  • But you are singers...
  • Next time, let’s practice a bit… please.
  • I hope you can practice really hard for the next album and perform well live.... ㅜ
  • They're just a dancing team, so it's hard to call them singers...
  • AR was installed well. It looks better than the last disaster. Well, you can't improve your skills in a week, but I think this is the right choice.
  • Music Bank in Coachella.

Nonetheless, everyone should still take note of the difference between giving out criticism and sending out hate. It’s a good thing to enjoy watching performances like this, rather than dwelling on so much negative narrative the whole time we’re on it. It still hit differently for those who actually went to watch their stage onsite and showed how they enjoyed LE SSERAFIM's set! It's a testimony that their music is for everyone yet some things are bound to happen but still showered the girls support and the hype they genuinely deserve.

As some criticisms were agreeable by the majority, and some were just solely based on a bad reflection, still, we got to give Sakura, Chaewon, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, and Eunchae a bunch of head pats! Many fans and netizens hope for their improvements—and it’s still a good thing that there's a considerable amount of eyes that would still want to see them shine and support them throughout the many of its.

It was certain that LE SSERAFIM was all out, they performed their best and we should give them their deserving applause for the great achievement of being able to perform at a huge festival like Coachella. They proved that after Weekend One, they are the meaning of what it’s like to be ANTIFRAGILE.

Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM has safely headed back to South Korea today (22nd) after the two-week festival.

Congratulations to LE SSERAFIM for this successful experience!

What do you think about FIMCHELLA?
