The upcoming music video for LE SSERAFIM's 'EASY' was deemed unfit for broadcast by KBS due to the possibility of people copying what they see in it.
In a similar case, (G)I-DLE‘s recent release 'Wife' was deemed “unfit for broadcasting” by KBS due to the “sexually explicit” lyrics in the song. Another one of their b-side tracks from their new ‘2’ album, 'Rollie,' was also banned due to mentioning a brand in the lyrics.
According to the directory, the music video’s description says, "A music video that deals with LE SSERAFIM's anxieties and struggles behind the scenes that the group has never shown before."
Seemingly, the reason given for the broadcast ban is the risk of imitation. It was not specified what exactly was shown but led to the issuing of the ban.
However, the song itself is approved for broadcast.
Another similar case to this was when BLACKPINK released their ‘Kill This Love’ music video back in 2019—banned also due to a scene showing that Rosé wasn't wearing a seatbelt in the car.
In a similar vein, BTS's 'Run BTS', which was released in 2022, was banned because they used the damn word. Also, Dope was banned due to the brand names in the song, so when they performed it, J-HOPE changed the brand name to the name of BTS's dogs.
Read some of the discussion from the netizens:
“Yes they ban for sometimes the most random stuff... but it's not new.” – a netizen said.
Fear not, FEARNOTs, because it is only the music video that is banned and not the performance!
