NCT's Taeyong Makes Solo Comeback With "TAP" M/V

NCT's Taeyong came back today (26th) with his second solo album "TAP".



The album was released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 26th, and the music video for the title song "TAP" was also released simultaneously on the SMTOWN channel on YouTube.

"TAP" is a hip-hop song with a unique charm that adds to the fun of listening to addictive and easy-to-follow rap flowing over a variety of instruments, and the lyrics tactfully depict a subtle interest as if indifferent to the other person, and it is enough to meet Taeyong's kitsch yet witty charm.

In particular, this album shows Taeyong's deeper sensibility and unrivaled ability as a musician as he not only wrote the lyrics of all the songs but also participated in the composition of all the songs.

The following is are a few questions the artist answered about his second mini-album, "TAP."

Q. It's been about eight months since your solo debut. How do you feel about releasing your second mini-album, "TAP"?
- I can't believe it's my second solo album. I'm so happy because it's an album that shows various sides of me and contains many messages that I want to share with NCTzen.

Q. Please introduce what kind of album "TAP" is. Also, you increased the scope of your work by writing the entire song and participating in the composition of the entire song. What did you focus on?
- "TAP" is an album in which my thoughts and emotions are more diverse than my first solo album. You will be able to see how much I have improved. Actually, I didn't think that I wanted to fill all the songs with my own songs. A&R staff and management staff said the songs were good, so I think there were a lot of them. I was really happy that it was recognized by people I liked. (laughs)

Q. If you were to express this album in one keyword, how would you express it?
- I think it's "result". The time I spent in my 20s and the result is included in this album.

Q. Please introduce the title track, "TAP". Is there a reason why you chose it?
- "TAP" is a hip-hop song with unique charms that make you feel cheerful and happy as you listen to it. The lyrics express a subtle interest as if you are indifferent to the other person. The lyrics also contain a message to live confidently as you want. As spring is approaching, I decided to play the title song with the hope that many people will listen to it lightly and feel better.

Q. What kind of evaluation do you want for this album?
- I'd like to hear that Taeyong is such a great artist. I don't think it's easy for me to make the whole album 10 years ago. I've been whipping myself a lot in my own way. That's why the release of the "TAP" album is a turning point for me to take pride and trust in myself. I hope many people listen to and sympathize with "Artist Taeyong".

Q. What are your plans and goals for this album?
- My goal is to show as many different sides of myself as possible with this album. I would be so happy and proud if the fans liked all the contents, including teaser images, trailer, highlight medley, and album. The goal I want to achieve is to be closer to the fans. I'm gaining a lot of strength from the fans every day, so I hope that Taeyong and my music can be something they want to see and listen to every day.

Q. Lastly, please say something to the fans who always support us.
- Our NCTzen~ The album that I've been working on for 10 years is finally out. While preparing for "TAP", I was happy and became stronger.
