Choi Jin Ri, better known by her stage name Sulli, was a South Korean actress, singer, and model. She first gained recognition as a child actress, appearing in various television dramas and films. Sulli rose to fame as a former member of the South Korean girl group f(x), which debuted under SM Entertainment in 2009.
During f(x)'s “Red Light” promotions, Sulli paused her activities due to exhaustion from ongoing negative comments. SM Entertainment pursued legal action against rumor spreaders, which concluded with an apology and charge withdrawal.
SM Entertainment stated on August 7, 2015, that Sulli left the group f(x) to focus more on acting. Sulli acted in main roles in TV shows and movies. She also debuted as a soloist with her first single “Goblin” on June 29, 2019.
Tragically, on October 14, 2019, Sulli was found deceased at her residence in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do. The cause of death was investigated by authorities, with preliminary assumptions pointing towards self-inflicted circumstances.
