Amber (Korean: 엠버) also known as Amber Liu, is a Taiwanese-American rapper and singer currently active in South Korea, China and USA.
At 15, she moved from her hometown of Los Angeles to Seoul to pursue her music career. A few years later, she debuted in 2009 in what would become the iconic K-pop group f(x). The group would go on to win numerous awards, becoming not only South Korea's biggest act but renowned internationally, with 6 of their albums reaching #1 on the charts.
Since then, Amber has collaborated with top producers and acts including Anna Kendrick, Superfruit and R3hab. While working with SM Entertainment, Amber also signed a contract with Steel Wool Entertainment.
Having over 5 million Instagram and 2 million Twitter followers, Amber has become an online influencer and icon to this generation.
Amber debuted as a soloist on February 13, 2015 with the EP “Beautiful”. It debuted at number 2 on Billboard’s World Albums chart. Her title track, “Shake That Brass”, featured Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon. She continues to evolve as an artist, songwriter, and creative director. In 2020, she made a splash with her self-produced mixtape “Rogue Rouge” and EP "X". In 2021, she released her third EP under Steel Wool Entertainment called "y?". "neon", the first single, features Peniel of BTOB.
In 2019, Amber officially left SM Entertainment and started working with Steel Wool Entertainment only.
