IZ*ONE's Kang Hyewon cast in new youth drama

Kang Hyewon

was cast as one of the main characters in "Youth Blossom" (literal title).

It was announced on July 7th that Kang Hyewon, formerly of IZ*ONE, was selected among others as the five main characters of new coming-of-age drama "Youth Blossom."

"Youth Blossom" is the story of friendship and love of 18 youths at Seoyeon High School, the main setting of "PLYVERSE" (Playlist + Universe). The main character varies by season within the concept of four seasons of spring, summer, fall, and winter.

Kang Hyewon plays an always bright and kind model student Yoon Bomi.

"Youth Blossom" is a Butterfly Effect drama about how a story of a boy who committed suicide six years ago and a girl who could not prevent it, which lived on as a school ghost story, affects living teens currently. Through the stories of teenagers who are not honest and hide themselves while groaning, the drama will look at the worries, conflicts, and growth that teenagers experience. Webtoons of the same name, which began serialization in June 2020, enjoyed popularity on Naver Webtoons.

"Youth Blossom" will be released as a Wave original in September.
