Boys Planet recently aired its final episode which was broadcasted live last April 20, 2023. With that, winners of the survival show were finally introduced to the public as members of MNET's newest group "ZEROBASEONE" or ZB1.
Immediately after the live broadcast, Korean netizens couldn't help but feel that Zhang Hao shouldn't be the center of the group because he is Chinese. He is the first Chinese contestant who won as the center in the entirety of the Produce series.
They also expressed their disappointment at ZB1's first official photo, saying that the group feels and looks like a Chinese group. A Korean netizen even asked whether the group would be able to wear hanbok and bow on Chuseok.
Meanwhile, some Korean netizens defended the group by saying there are seven Koreans and they should tone down their criticism as this group hasn't even debuted yet.
Instead of celebrating his win with his fans showering him with love and being excited about his debut, Zhang Hao faces mixed reactions from some Korean netizens because he is Chinese.
They commented:
