ILLIT Wins 1st Place on Music Core With "Magnetic", Achieving a Triple Crown

The momentum of the group ILLIT is scary. Even with CEO Min Hee-jin's accusations of "copying", the group is still continuing its success.

On MBC's "Show! Music Core," which aired on Saturday, ILLIT won first place with their debut song "Manetic," beating BabyMonster and BoyNextDoor. ILLIT did not appear on the show due to the end of the promotions, but the group added another No. 1 trophy. ILLIT has won 10 trophies on music programs.

Recently, CEO Min Hee-jin made an explanation when she was suspected of taking over management control due to a conflict with HYBE. "HYBE label's Belift Lab debuted ILLIT in March this year," CEO Min Hee-jin said, raising suspicions that ILLIT copied New Jeans.

"The appearance of the younger generation consumed the image of NewJeans. ADOR has never allowed or understood anyone to copy NewJeans' achievements, including HYBE and Belift Lab," she said, expressing displeasure at the group being called NewJeans' younger sister.

"The kids are not at fault," she said at a press conference afterwards, but she did not budge on the claim that ILLIT copied NewJeans. The incident damaged ILLIT's image, with fans saying Min Heejin should stop mentioning NewJeans and ILLIT.

ILLIT recently appeared on a radio and said, "Members of Belift Lab, I know how much you did your best for our debut album. We're proud and grateful. We don't get to thank you often, but we think you all know how we feel. Thank you HYBE for trusting us, and we'll work harder," the group said indirectly.

Despite being called "copies," ILLIT won another trophy on a music show, setting a new record. The public just hopes that neither ILLIT nor NewJeans will be hurt by the conflict between Min Hee-jin and HYBE.
