The Golden Disc Awards, hosted by the JoongAng Group, is a music awards ceremony that gives out multiple honors and three grand prizes—Digital Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Rookie Artist of the Year—as well as popular vote awards for male and female acts.
This year’s event will be hosted by singer Sung Sikyung, singer-actor ASTRO's Cha Eunwoo and actor Mun Kayoung.
Girl groups aespa, ILLIT and rock band DAY6 will perform on January 4, and boy bands Nowadays, Seventeen, ENHYPEN and girl groups IVE, GFriend, izna and singer Yuqi of (G)I-DLE will perform on January 5.
Given the current circumstances and South Korea's period of national mourning, the event, which was originally scheduled for January 4-5 in Japan's Fukuoka Paypay Dome, will be replaced by a pre-recorded broadcast. The broadcast will be confirmed at a later date.
Additionally, the red carpet scheduled for the same day will be postponed as well, and details such as ticket adjustments and broadcast schedules will be announced later.
