SHAX was a five-member fictional project boy group created for KBS2’s drama "Imitation".
In the drama, the group has been active for six years under NOG Entertainment and consists of Kwon Ryuk (portrayed by former U-KISS' Jun Young), Jaewoo (portrayed by actor Ahn Jung Hoon), Lee Hyun (portrayed by SF9's Hwiyoung), Dojin (portrayed by JxR's Yuri Park), and Hyuk (portrayed by ATEEZ's Jongho). They also have a former member, Eunjo (portrayed by SF9's Chani), who abruptly left the group after disappearing during one of the group's concerts.
To tease the show and add a touch of reality, SNS accounts were opened for the group, notably a Twitter account on April 5, 2021, and an Instagram account on April 8. A poster spoiler was also revealed on April 12, followed by an official group poster posted the next day, on April 13, teasing the date May 7, 2021.
SHAX debuted on May 7, 2021, with the digital single "Malo". The group eventually disbanded with the end of the drama and the last release titled "Your Sign" along TEAPARTY, SPARKLING, and LA LIMA.
