Hanroro is a South Korean singer and songwriter signed under Authentic (formerly Studio MOS). She made her debut on March 14, 2022, with the digital single album “입춘 (Let Me Love My Youth)”. Hanroro has contributed to the songwriting for renowned artists such as Taeyeon (SNSD), AKMU, and TXT. In 2023, she was nominated for ‘New Artist of the Year’ and ‘Best Modern Rock Song’ at the 20th Korean Popular Music Awards.
Her stage name, Han RoRo, originated from her high school nickname, “Han Log,” a playful reference to her real name, Han JiSoo, and the mathematical terms exponents and logarithms. Finding “Han Log” too mathematical, she opted for the softer-sounding “Han RoRo.”
In 2020, driven by her passion for music, Hanroro reached out to Studio MOS, submitting two demo songs she created using a free composition program and a ukulele. After four months, she traveled to Seoul to meet with the company representatives and was accepted as a trainee in early 2021.
Initially, the company aimed for a “high teen” concept with English lyrics for her debut. However, this approach did not resonate well, prompting Hanroro to suggest a new musical direction that better reflected the messages she wanted to convey.
