Introduction

Sowon (소원) also known as Kim So-jung (김소정) is a South Korean singer rapper. She was the leader, vocalist and rapper of GFriend, which was under Source Music. She was born in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, South Korea and has one older sister.

She debuted as the leader of GFriend with the EP Season of Glass on January 15, 2015.

GFriend disbanded on May 22, 2021 after all members left Source Music upon the completion of their six-year contract.

On August 2, 2021, it was announced that she has signed with IOK Company as an actress and would be using her birth name moving forward.
On September 1, 2022, it was announced that Sowon had left IOK Company.

On November 15, 2022, it was announced that Sowon had signed with OUI Entertainment, as an actress and would be changing her stage name to Kim Sowon.
