Kawachi Maya is a Japanese rapper, singer-songwriter, and dancer under XGALX. She is best known as the lead vocalist and rapper of the Japanese global girl group XG.

Born in Kantou, Japan, Maya was never the type to participate in auditions so she was afraid of taking on that challenge. But when she first heard of it she remembered thinking that she's definitely going to go to that audition and make sure to get chosen. She was convinced that this project was nothing like what she had done before and she intuitively felt this project was going to be her life. So she really had this fire ignite within her.

On February 2, 2022, Maya was revealed as the fifth member of XG. The group officially debuted on Mar 18, 2022, with their debut digital single "Tippy Toes".
