Choi Sooyoung is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper, dancer, composer, and actress under Saram Entertainment.
She is best known as one of the lead rappers and lead dancers of the girl group Girls' Generation.
She was part of Japan's short-lived Korean-Japanese singing duo Route 0 in 2002. After returning to South Korea in 2004, Sooyoung eventually became a member of Girls' Generation in 2007, which rose to become one of the most successful girl groups in South Korea.
Aside from her group's activities, Sooyoung has also starred in various television dramas such as The 3rd Hospital (2012), Dating Agency: Cyrano (2013), My Spring Days (2014), 38 Revenue Collection Unit (2016), Tell Me What You Saw (2020), Run On (2020), and If You Wish Upon Me (2022).
In October 2017, Sooyoung left SM Entertainment, although she remains a member of Girls' Generation.
