Mei Qi is a Chinese singer and actress under Yue Hua Entertainment. She is a former member of the girl group WJSN and the Chinese project girl group Rocket Girls 101. She made her Chinese solo debut on April 23, 2019, with the digital single "Helios".
In WJSN she represents the Libra sign in the group concept. She's part of the sub-unit 'Natural' and she's also in charge of the sexy concept. She debuted as a member of WJSN on February 25, 2016, with their first mini album 'Would You Like?'.
In 2018, Mei Qi ranked 1st on the Chinese version of Produce 101 which qualified her to be a member and the centre of the project girl group Rocket Girls 101. Rocket Girls 101 later disbanded in 2020 after their contract expired
She debuted as a soloist in 2019 with the single 'Jiang', the EP that held that song had sold a million copies in the first nine minutes. She continued her solo music career when in 2020, she released her first mini album ' Love Not Love', with the title song 'Mute'.
That same year, she also debuted as an actress in the movie 'Autumn Fairy Tale', as a support character alongside Zhao Lusi and Xu Kai. She starred for the first time as a main lead in the 2019 dance movie, 'Step Up: Year of the Dance' and in the Wuxia film 'Jade Dynasty' alongside Xiao Zhan.
She is on hiatus from WJSN due to her promotions in China since 2018.
