Introduction to Punchnello

Lee Young-sin (이영신), better known by his stage name Punchnello (펀치넬로), is a South Korean rapper under Jay Park’s label AOMG. He initially debuted under Epik High’s Tablo’s label HIGHGRND in 2016, but left the YG headed subsidiary for AOMG in 2019, debuting once more with the EP “Oridinary” on January 28. Later that year, he won the rap competition show “Show Me the Money 8”.

Punchnello kickstarted his musical career in 2015, releasing a mixtape that garnered a lot of attention within the South Korean hip-hop scene. It gave him the opportunities to collaborate and feature alongside some of the most recognized hip-hop artists in South Korea.

Punchnello has built his own musical style, starting with his debut single “Lime”, appearing on “Show Me the Money 6” and through single albums including “Worth It” and “Detox”.

2019 was the year Punchnello approaced the public and was the talk of the town. He showed a mature side of him and distinctive style followed by the single “23”, where he collaborated with singer-songwriter Sam Kim. He then participated in “Show Me the Money 8”, two years after his first appearance on the sixth season of the show, and managed to become the champion.

A few months later, it was announced that he had joined Jay Park’s label AOMG. The first single under the label, “Doodle”, gained mass recognition from the public for his unique style of rapping, harmonized with Baek Yerin’s beautiful vocals.
