Twice's sub-unit MISAMO, composed of the group's 'J-line' aka Japanese members Mina, Sana, and Momo, has unveiled the music video for 'NEW LOOK' ahead of their upcoming 2nd mini-album.
'NEW LOOK' is a cover song by MISAMO, originally sung by the 'Queen of J-pop' Namie Amuro in 2008. The track is included in MISAMO's second EP, 'HAUTE COUTURE', which is scheduled for release on November 6, 2024.
The music video for 'NEW LOOK' screams retro and evokes nostalgia by creatively merging the past and present, showing women in different roles and occupations. The song, which was inspired by fashion icon 'Twiggy', reflects women's transformation, self-discovery, and embracing change and individuality. MISAMO showcases their retro visuals with mini-skirts and short hairstyles, expressing their desire to have a "new look" that aligns with their unique charms.
Through this cover song and its music video, MISAMO hopes to convey the message of pursuing dreams and breaking traditional barriers, especially for women.
