Kim Jonghyeon, formerly known as JR, is a South Korean singer and actor under Evermore Entertainment. He rose to fame when he participated in the hit survival show Produce 101 Season 2. He is also known as the leader and main rapper of the boy group NU'EST under Pledis Entertainment.

On February 28, 2022, Pledis Entertainment announced that Jonghyeon had decided not to renew contracts with the company. Later, the idol signed an exclusive contract as a solo artist with Evermore Entertainment on May 16, 2022.

Kim Jonghyeon made his official solo debut on November 8, 2022, with the mini album "Meridiem."
