Introduction to Suzy

Suzy (수지) is a South Korean singer and actress currently under Management SOOP. She is a former member of the girl group miss A. She made her solo debut on January 24, 2017 with her first mini-album Yes? No?. She rose to fame with her roles in Dream High and Gu Family Book. Suzy was hailed as Korea's Icon of First Love for her natural acting and innocent charm. She also became a "CF Queen" due to her endorsement deals. She made more than 10 billion won in 2013 from endorsements.

In 2009, Suzy auditioned for Mnet Superstar K and made it through the preliminary round but she was eliminated. However, she caught the attention of a scout from JYP Entertainment and soon became a trainee. In March 2019 Suzy made her debut with girl group miss A.

In October 2010, Suzy became the fixed host for MBC Show! Music Core alongside Minho and Onew, both members of Shinee, and Jiyeon, of T-ara. Suzy later hosted events such as Seoul Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, and Mnets 20's CHoice awards where she won "Hot New Star of 2011"

Suzy made her acting debut in the teen music drama Dream High. Suzy released an OST for the drama titled "Winter Child". At the KBS Drama Awards, Suzy won the Best New Actress award as well as Best Couple award with co-star actor Kim Soohyun. Suzy became a cast member in reality show Invincible Youth 2 alongside Hyoyeon (SNSD), Yewon (Jewelry), Bora (Sistar), Jiyoung (Kara), Woori (Rainbow), Amber (f(x)), and Sunny (SNSD). On December 22, 2012, Suzy won the Best Newcomer award in the Variety category at the KBS Entertainment Awards for Invincible Youth 2.

Suzy was the first Korean female celebrity to win a singer rookie award, drama rookie award and film rookie award, having received the Best New Actress award at the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards for her performance in Architecture 101.

In 2013 Suzy starred in historical drama Gu Family Book. Suzy received the Top Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards and at the Seoul International Drama Awards she won Outstanding Actress.

In January 2016, Suzy released a digital single titled "Dream" with EXO's Baekhyun. The song won Best Collaboration award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. In September 2016 Suzy became the first Korean female celebrity to receive a wax-likeness of herself at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong.

In 2017, Suzy made her solo debut with album titled "Yes? No?". On December 27th 2017 JYP Entertainment announced that Miss A had disbanded and Suzy had renewed her contract with JYP Entertainment.

In 2018 Suzy made her comeback with pre-release track "In Love with Someone Else" which achieved a real-time all kill. Suzy released her second albumed titled "Faces of Love" on January 29th with title track "Holiday"

On March 31st, 2019, Suzy announced she would not be renewing her contract with JYP Entertainment following the expiration. She signed with SOOP Management.
