Byun Baekhyun is a South Korean singer and actor under INB100. He is a member of the boy group EXO, and its sub-units EXO-K and EXO-CBX. He is also the leader of the supergroup SuperM and a member of the virtual group HEARTSTEEL. He made his solo debut on July 10, 2019, with the mini album City Lights.
Born on May 6, 1992, Baekhyun grew up with the passion to sing and perform which led him to practice his skills and become an official SM trainee in 2011. Eventually, Baekhyun made his official debut in 2012. Baekhyun also became an actor, famous for appearing in the drama "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo."
Baekhyun is the first solo artist in 19 years to become a million-seller since Kim Gunmo in 2001. He is also the second artist to earn the title "million-seller" both as a group and as a soloist following Seo Taiji of Seo Taiji and Boys.
Since May 6, 2021, Baekhyun has been enlisted in South Korea's mandatory military service. Having been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, he is serving as a public service worker instead of an active-duty soldier. Baekhyun's expected discharge date from the military service is in 2023.
On June 1, 2023, Baekhyun—together with Chen and Xiumin—revealed the termination of their exclusive contracts with SM Entertainment.
On January 3, 10 Asia reported that Baekhyun established a company called INB100 for his solo activities on June 23, 2023, and will act as its CEO Director.
