Jung Hoseok (정호석), best known by his stage name j-hope, is a South Korean dancer, rapper, songwriter, and music producer signed under Big Hit Entertainment. He is the main Dancer and Rapper of the sensational boy group BTS.
j-hope took dancing classes at Gwangju Music Academy and became a part of an underground dance team called "Neuron" in which he went by the name Smile Hoya. Finding inspiration in G-Dragon and Beenzino, j-hope initially auditioned for JYP Entertainment but ultimately became part of Big Hit Entertainment. Eventually, j-hope debuted as a member of the group BTS; a boy group that went on to grow as a worldwide phenomenon. With passion and ceaseless efforts, j-hope became one of the most sought after artists of his generation.
j-hope released his first solo mixtape, "Hope World" in 2018, and became the highest-charting Korean soloist at the time on Billboard 200.
